GamersVsMS is a way to bring gamers together in the fight against MS. Our main event, which happens twice a year is week-long gaming relay marathon, where Gamers across Canada join the fight against MS. Canada has one of the highest rates of multiple sclerosis in the world, with an estimated 1 in every 385 Canadians living with the disease. Besides that, we will feature "One-Up" streams which can hosted by anyone in support of the MS Society! Email us if you'd like to do a stream for a good cause!
The first relay took place in June 2018, raising nearly $10,000 for the MS Society of Canada. In 2019, there are plans in place for TWO week-long relays, one in April and one in October. We hope this way to get even more Canadian streamers involved in this amazing cause. Our most recent relay in March 2020 raised over $33,000. Gamers can make a difference!
MS is currently classified as an autoimmune disease of the central nervous system (brain, spinal cord). The disease attacks myelin, the protective covering of the nerves, causing inflammation and often damaging the myelin. MS is unpredictable and can cause symptoms such as extreme fatigue, lack of coordination, weakness, tingling, impaired sensation, vision problems, bladder problems, cognitive impairment and mood changes.
This website will be you go-to for information about Gamers Vs MS, and the upcoming October week-long relay. You’ll soon find a stream schedule, how to donate, and any other questions you have.
